Chinese consumer goods artificially cheap.

The worlds hunger for the cheap goods China pumps out to the rest of the world is so great it is causing problems for the worlds different currency.

Read the article from the BBC for the details.

We can make a difference. Start directing you spending to more products made in the US. Every dollar you spend here is one less dollar the trade gap would have grown. And then spread the word. Don’t forget there are Americans getting rich off of the Trade Gap as well as the nations pouring their goods in here. Hey that is the American way, there is nothing wrong with that. Likewise there is nothing wrong with us saying, no we are going to keep our money at home. Make this issue important enough and the people making money bringing in good from overseas can make money promoting American goods and they will. So lets make it important.

If this doesn’t discourage you from buying Chinese products, perhaps this will. China (like some other nations that American does business with) has questionable human rights policies. Products from there are made with slave labor. How can you enjoy something knowning that whoever made it suffered? Whatever happened to a social conscience?

You can start with shoes. I have a pair of American-made New Balance sneakers. They are amazing. They feel comfortable and are holding up fine. The best part is that they are not very expensive. The price is rather competitive.

Not only a lack of human right, but what about the pollution and massive carbon emmissons. We have to (and probably should have to) adhere to guide lines regarding waste and run off etc, I doubt very much they have any rules at all.

If you can’t do it for the USA how about the Earth!

  3. Administrator Says:

I checked out New Balance after reading your post. I really like what I read. I loved the part about not paying those huge endorsments other shoes companies pay, but rather build a great product instead. They mentioned they maintain some factories here in the US. Do your shoes say “Made in the USA”

I think you may have won them a new customer the next time I need shoes.

  4. Charlie G. Says:

It says “Made in USA” on the inside. It also says “USA” on the back. I think they make some shoes that say “Made in USA” on the outside.
