Formaldehyde with your Pickles anyone?

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Oh yes cost and corners cutters from China are at it again. Folks why do you think things can be made so cheaply? Corners are cut and the people making the money just don’t care.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in China has just closed 180 food factories. “These are not isolated cases,” Han, director of the administration’s quality control and inspection department, was quoted as saying.

And check this out: China’s State Administration for Industry and Commerce, said it closed 152,000 unlicensed food manufacturers and retailers last year for making fake and low-quality products. It also banned 15,000 tons of “unqualified food” from entering the market because it failed to meet national standards. Note that is their standards not ours. I’m pretty sure our standards are higher.

So do yourself a favor, read the article and don’t eat Imported Chinese Foods!

Americans are Cool with China catching up?

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

I think it is very sad that Americans are Cool with the fact that China could not only catch the US but overtake us as a world leader. That is freakin sick. What the hell are they teaching in schools today.

We have our freedoms and life styles because we the American people carved it from the world. It was not given to us. We should be fighting as hard to keep our special place in the world as the people that put us here did.

Here is the source and I can not vouch for it. I hope it is bogus

American Made Products

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

Last night I went to a party to celebrate a young man celebrating his high school graduation. Last Sunday we were at a high school grad party for a young lady. Both of these young people have great futures ahead of them and they are off to college in just two months from now.

Not every kid get to go to college or wants to. And we need to make sure there are good jobs for them out there. I do think about that while looking for products Made in America. What is the connection you may ask? Well if we are making more goods here there will be more jobs at every level. The entry level on the lines, the foreman, the managers, the office staff, the people that do up keep for the factory and grounds, the food service people, and so on and so on. If we keep doing nothing but looking at the service industry, who the hell will we be servicing? We can’t all service right?

When planning for the future we are all told “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket” Well we are right now. We are losing jobs for our skilled labor, and the entry level labor jobs that lead to the skilled labor.

Buy American Products when you can. It does make a differance. We have to stop the bleeding and repair the damage.

104 and counting made in china products recalled this year

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Yes, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has already had 104 products made in China removed from our markets. They have removed 152 products this year overall so China has bragging rights to greater then 50%.

These are not just products that don’t work, they kill, choke, fracture, lacerate, crack skulls, burn down your house, and more.

Now I’m pretty sure a lot of this products may be designed here and we need to look at the companies doing the planning but the bulk of the mishaps appear to be just shoddy corner cutting work! You get what you pay for!

China Playing games again

Saturday, June 9th, 2007

This time they are blocking imports to make themselves look a little better after all of the scandals involving the tainted products they have been exporting.

They blocked and deystroyed some raisins and vitimans from the US that did not meet “The Chinese Standard” for bacteria. WHAT STANDARD? They have STANDARDS?

Did they have standards for all of the poisoned pet food they shipped all over the world, or the tootpaste, cough syrup, etc. etc.?

They have no standards on human rights, the enviroment. Gimme a break!

Dell to lay off 10% of Global Workforce

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

I did not see the amount of workers in the US slated to get the axe. Odd thing is profits and sales are up. Mr Dell said they were moving into fast growing markets like China and Brazil. Here is my question Mr. Dell. Will you outsource the Chinese support desk to the US? It would only be fair!

Don’t forget to brush!

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

Ok, now the FDA is recalling toothpaste made in China because it contains something it should not. How nice, first it’s Fur that is Dog, Cashmere that is Yak and now toxic toothpaste!

Not many found in the US but quite a few tubes found in South America. Stick with the name brands!
