Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

I continue to receive suggestions for new links on my American Made Products Directory that are panning out. Today I was able to add a Soap Company, a China (dinner ware) company, a canoe company, another toy company, and there may have been another.

Please keep emailing me the suggestions for American Made Products!

Toys Made in America!

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

Read a great article about a vendor that put a sign out pointing out the American Made Toys and they were cleaned by shoppers looking to buy Made in the USA first. I think the all stores could learn from this!

Big Toy Companies

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

So it seems like many of the recalled toys on the ever growing list come may be made in China, but they are being made for and imported by huge toy companies we all grew up with? How come we don’t hear the brand name in the news very often!

Well I have something to tell Mattel, and Fisher-Price, you are known by the company you keep, and right now you are keeping company with a bunch of greedy factories that will do anything for a buck!

Tell these Toy Companies what you think of them. Tell them to make toys here in the US where they sell most of them. How many toys does China buy? I doubt slave labor wages can buy a lot of toys even if they are dangerous!

I’m not a big fan of lawsuits but these toy companies have it coming to them!

I will not be buying any Mattel or Fisher-Price items period!

New Links for Made in the USA

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Wow, it has been a great week already. I was emailed by three different vistitors to the site about companies I had not found. So after checking out their suggestions I was able to add an American Shoe company, and American Boot company, a New Motorcycle Company, an American Made Dirt Bike Company, and a Jeans Company. So please submit your ideas I do track them down and list them if it pans out. Check out the site for the new listings of American Made Products I’m still chasing down info on a couple other submissions from two other visitors!

Vermont Teddy Bear

Friday, November 30th, 2007

So The Vermont Teddy Bear company turned my site down as a candidate for their affilate program. Maybe the site was to American Made for them? They did not bother to say why. So I guess they are made in the USA, but sorry honey I’ll never be sending a Teddy Bear order from them anytime soon!

I really want my site to stay away from politics and it has, so I’m not sure why they would not like the site? They advertise on right wing radio (I thought they did) and this site is not right or left!

Keep your money in the US, Keep your Job in the US!

Toys Made in the USA

Monday, November 26th, 2007

So I’ve been able to add a few more companies to the American made Toy page of the website. The good news is there are more then ever before. You may want to know why you don’t see some companies on my list when it appears on other list of American Made toys. Well the simple answer is they don’t put anything loud and clear on their website about being Made in the USA. If I have to guess then I guess no and pass them up even if they are on another list. Sometimes I email and ask them, but I’d rather list the proud first!

There is a wave of interest right now in American Made. Sing it loud and proud there are people out there that want to buy your products!!!!!

Maglite Flashlights added

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Today I added Maglite flashlights to the American Made Products Directory. I was told about Maglite by an alert visitor to the site, thanks Jeff!

One of the things I loved about the Maglite site was that they were proud of the fact they are American Made and did not mind bragging about it. I know what all of my flashlights will be from now one.

People are looking for American Made Products

Monday, November 19th, 2007

People are looking more and more often for American Made. I think the big factor of course is all of the faulty and often dangerous products coming from China.

Americansworking.com is getting double and triple the number of hits we did this time last year!

For the record I have nothing against the people of China. Can’t stand communist, but you can’t blame the people for working for next to nothing, cause the other option is nothing! But they could and should do better for thier own people.

And I do ask myself, “should we enrich our lives by buying cheap products from countries that do things we don’t, and we don’t for good reasons?” I think not. That is why this year more then ever before I will be looking at my own list of American Made Products for my Christmas Shopping!

Keep your money at home, keep your job at home, keep your homes safer.

The Green Impact

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

It always amazes me that the people who are trying to make an impact on Global Warming etc don’t put more energy into buying things locally rather then importing? Maybe they do and I just missed it. There are many groups and websites like this one urging people to buy American made products for many reasons. I would think another good reason is a smaller carbon foot print right? How can an imported product not have a huge carbon foot print? They are made in factories where in most cases there are not laws regarding emissions, the electricty used is made by burning coal, the cargo ships that transport the products here are not running on bio diesel fuel last I looked?

So yet another great reason to buy American Made Products! Buying American reduces your carbon foot print and keeps your job at home! At least the way that I see it and that’s all that counts in my house.

Why are Chinese Products so cheap

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Sounds like a stupid question right? I know everone just thinks it the labor right? Well you have all seen the horrible press Chinese goods have received over the last few months right. The new did not just focus on cheap labor did it? Most of the news reported about unsafe materials and workmenship. So lets break this down shall we. Why are Chinese goods cheap:

  • Cheap Labor (we all know that)
  • Little to no safety regulations
  • Little to know QA (as we know it anyhow)
  • Corruption
  • Devalued money (on purpose)
  • No worker rights (as we know them)
  • Free electricty (from coal fired plants I might add)
  • No B&O tax
  • No Payroll tax (do you pay slaves?)
  • No health insurance
  • Little to no regs or guidelines on pollution
  • No emmission controls (as we know it)
  • Cutting Corners!
  • No worker rights
  • Extreme Greed
  • Copyrights What copyrights!

No I don’t have hard facts to back all this up, but I can read (can’t spell) and I do read the news. You don’t have to be the world’s smartest guy to figure this out. It’s everwhere! Just like their products!

Keep your money at home, keep your job at home.
