Belts made in the USA do more than keep your pants up, they help keep Americans employed. The belt may seem like a simple piece of clothing but to those of us that grew up wearing leather belts they are very essential. I don’t know about you but I’m lost and feel like I’m missing something on the rare occasion I have forgotten to wear my favorite belt. Probably like most people once you have a good belt you keep it forever. What last longer than a well made American Made belt? Nothing I would say, so why even try. Buy belts Made in the USA and you have made a sound investment.

Even though belts have been around since the bronze age they were not common in early America. Belt’s became part of the American wardrobe in the 1920s. Trousers before that time did not even include the common belt loops we are all so familiar with.

Like everything in America once we embraced the belt we made it our own and local taste began shaping the regional styles of belts. We have all seen the big western style belts with large buckles that are reflect the wearers culture. In another part of the country a belt may be very simple and understated and everything in between. Over the years the material that belts are made have has mostly stayed the same, which is leather of course. Other materials have some benefit for certain applications for military and law enforcement for an example.

It has been pretty difficult to locate Belt Buckles made in the USA. While we have located and listed several belt companies, American made belt buckles have been more elusive. While there are no shortage of buckles on the market they seem to be all made over seas. Our search for buckles will continue of course and if you can help us please let us know.

Following is some great information on belts and buckles and how they have changed over the years. To finish your wardrobe don’t forget to browse the American Made Clothing resource on this directory.
