Candy made in the USA should be on the top of your treat list. Not only will American made candy satisfy your sweet tooth it employs fellow Americans in it’s production. Would you trust imported candy made in unregulated factories from a third world country? Have you seen the news reports over the last decade of how often imported items are found to be tainted.

Did you know how long people have been enjoying candy? It all started in ancient Egypt with treats made of honey and nuts. Candy made with sugar emerged around 250AD and we have been creating new forms of candy ever since. Our imagination alone will limit what we do with candy in the future.

Americans love their candy judged by the enormous amount of money we spend on the sweet confections. It has been reported in one year Americans spent $7 Billion on individual servings of candy. That amount of money could produce many jobs if it were all American made. Sadly not all of the candy sold in the USA is made here, many of the top candy brands are no longer made here at home. The companies make little more than money in the USA instead of products.

In creating this page of the American made directory we have been discovering many regional candy companies, which was a very welcome discovery. I’m certain there are many more local candy companies we have yet to find. We invite you to tell us about your local favorite for consideration of being listed here.

After you investigate our candy category please explore some of our other popular categories like food made in the USA or maybe clothing made in the USA and get our country back on the right track. Just remember American made is Americans paid! Find all of our categories here on the American Made Directory.
